The Power of Art® Courses

Art builds more than artistic skill. It builds confidence, resilience, and a vision for the future.

The Big Idea

The Power of Art® is a pioneering, trauma-informed curriculum that combines fine-art instruction with life-coping skills, positive affirmations, mental health principles, and leadership development.

Through drawing, painting, and focused attention, participants develop both artistic ability and personal strength.

What Participants Learn

Each lesson teaches practical skills while building character and confidence:

  • Life Skills: Developing coping skills that support healthy decisions and strong character
  • Resilience: Facing challenges, overcoming trauma, and confronting life’s “giants”
  • Identity: Understanding personal worth and purpose
  • Focus: Drawing techniques that strengthen attention and concentration
  • Healthy Relationships: Recognizing what real love looks like and breaking unhealthy patterns
  • Protection: Recognizing predator tactics and making safe, informed choices
  • Fine Art: Value, shading, composition, design, and perspective
  • Future Vision: Exploring higher education, skilled trades, careers, and personal goals

The Transformation

Every class builds confidence.

Participants create art, practice positive affirmations, and apply life-coping principles. Week by week, they strengthen their ability to focus, make healthy choices, and see their own potential.

The course culminates in a personal mission and vision statement that helps participants define who they are, where they want to go, and how they plan to get there.

Who It Serves

Children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma can benefit from The Power of Art® Healing Classes.
